Six food-grade ice formats, each suited to a different drink and glass. Sizes, packs and what each one is for.
Classic Hoshizaki cube
The cube you expect in a proper bar: solid, compact and without the hollow centre of petrol-station ice. It chills fast, survives the shaker and is the go-to format when you simply need a lot of good ice.
Size
28 × 28 × 32 mm
Packed
2 kg and 5 kg bags
Best for
Soft drinks, G&Ts by the jug, sangria, shaken cocktails, cool boxes.
Crushed (frappé) ice
Ready-to-use crushed ice — no crusher, no bashing a tea towel on the counter. It chills a drink in seconds and gives mojitos that frosty look. Keep the bag closed and use it the same day; in a home freezer crushed ice tends to clump.
Size
Irregular fragments
Packed
2 kg and 5 kg bags
Best for
Caipirinhas, mojitos, tiki drinks, seafood and drinks displays.
Sphere ice
A sphere has the smallest surface for its volume, so it melts slowly and barely waters down the drink. Pick the diameter by glass: 50–55 mm for narrow rocks glasses, 60–65 mm for wide tumblers.
Size
Ø 50, 55, 60 or 65 mm
Packed
25, 20 or 16 spheres per bag (by size)
Best for
Whisky, negroni, old fashioned, low tasting glasses.
Large 5 cm cube
One cube per glass keeps the drink cold to the last sip. It's the cocktail-bar standard for spirits served on the rock and instantly makes a home bar look professional.
Size
50 × 50 × 50 mm
Packed
Bagged; units per bag confirmed in your quote
Best for
Old fashioned, spirits on a single rock, low glasses.
Rectangular cocktail block
A tall block that fills a double rocks glass and still leaves room for the garnish. Minimal dilution and a clean look — made for signature cocktail menus.
One spear runs the full height of a tall glass. Your G&T stays colder and fizzier for longer because less ice surface touches the tonic.
Size
35 × 35 × 120 mm
Packed
Bagged; units per bag confirmed in your quote
Best for
Gin & tonic, highballs, Tom Collins, tall glasses.

Full specs for every format are in the Iceology catalogue — Iceology makes our ice.
We also make ice blocks (50×25×10 cm, about 12.5 kg, and 50×25×15 cm, about 19 kg) for chilling drinks in bulk or as the base for ice sculptures.
Frequently asked questions
What's the best ice for a villa party?
Classic Hoshizaki cubes in 5 kg bags — they work for almost everything and are the best value per kilo. Add a bag of crushed ice if you're making caipirinhas or mojitos.
Why does big ice melt more slowly?
The bigger the piece, the less surface touches the drink relative to its volume. Spheres and 5 cm cubes dilute far less than small cubes.
How much does the ice cost?
It depends on the format, quantity and delivery area. Ask for a quote and we'll reply with a final price, delivery included.
How should I store the ice?
In a freezer at −18 °C, bag closed. Without a freezer, keep full cool boxes in the shade. Use crushed ice on the day of delivery.
